Abstract. The most probable value of the Fermi momentum $(p_f)$ has been suggested in the framework of the statistical model and its dependence on the ratio of the CKM matrix elements $\vert V_{ub} /V_{cb}\vert$ has been investigated. It has been suggested that the aforesaid ratio should be considerably enhanced compared to the existing estimates so as to reproduce reasonable values of the Fermi momentum, $p_f$.
