Abstract.
We propose a thermodynamically consistent equation of state (EOS) for a hot and dense handron gas (HG) incorporating the hard-core finite-size correction for baryons which result in a Van-der Waals excluded volume effect. We develop a complete description within a thermal hadron gas model to determine the production of strange particles in relativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions and calculate the strange particle ratios as function of baryon chemical potential $\mu_{B}$ and temperature $T$. The results are compared with other existing thermodynamically consistent EOS. Furthermore we extract the thermal freeze-out parameters for different strange particles using the latest data obtained by the CERN experiments.
