An experimental procedure capable of changing thermal gradient while keeping pulling velocity and cell-spacing constant is applied. It enables us to directly observe the effect on sidebranching of the sole change of thermal gradient. It is found that increase of thermal gradient enhances sidebranch amplitude and reduces sidebranching onset.
