- There is an
FAQ specifically for AT&T modems.
-
- This modem is recommended for use with HylaFAX
only when used in Class 1.
CLASS 1 SUPPORT
- received HDLC frames do not
include the FCS bytes (revs prior to 1.33)
- carrier is sometimes dropped w/o notice during receive (rev 1.33)
- the command "ATH+FCLASS=0;A"
does not do the right thing because the command parser does not parse
the ";A"
- the modem returns "OK" instead of
"NO CARRIER" or "NO ANSWER" when a
dial attempt times out before carrier is established
CLASS 2 SUPPORT
- Result strings for
AT+FDCC=? and AT+FDIS=?
are semantically incorrect;
ranges are returned as (a,b) instead of (a-b); e.g. (0,5) instead
of (0-5) for signalling rate; this causes problems in deducing the
true set of modem capabilities
(old firmware revs)
- The modem sends the host ^S/^Q during page
data transmission (AT+FDT)
even when RTS/CTS flow control is enabled.
- Prior to rev 1.76 it was not possible to
disable copy quality checking (AT+FCQ=0 failed).
- There is no support for transmission of 2D-encoded data
- In certain revisions,
the modem was observed to enter a state where it repeatedly sent
EOP when commanded to send MPS (for AT+FET=0); power-cycling the
modem cleared this condition
- In certain revisions prior to 1.76,
when transmitting, the modem drops page data
(due to improperly priming the datapump).
- The modem returns "OK" instead of
"NO CARRIER" or "NO ANSWER" when a
dial attempt times out before carrier is established
- In firmware revision 1.76, AT+FREV? can return gibberish that
causes the fax software to be unable to initialize the modem; to workaround
the problem set the ModemRevQueryCmd
configuration parameter to "!C01.1.76" (so the command
is not sent to the modem).
