HYLAFAX MAILING LISTS AND OTHER FINAL WORDS

There are two mailing lists for users of the HylaFAX software:

flexfax@sgi.com, a public list for all users of the HylaFAX software (actually located at celestial.com);
flexfax-announce@sgi.com, a low volume list where announcements of new versions of HylaFAX are posted.

flexfax@sgi.com tends to have a fair amount of traffic about the server-side software; if you are not running a fax server it may not be worth joining. Beware also that this mailing list has many people on it. Please take this into consideration when posting notes to it; i.e. avoid posting large trace logs and the such. Also, when corresponding about this software please always specify:

what version you have (check here if you are unsure of your software version),
what system you're running on, and,
if the problem is modem-related, identify the modem and the firmware revision.

For example: "HylaFAX v2.3.0alpha99 under Solaris 2.3 with gcc 2.5.7; ZyXEL 1496E with 6.11a firmware."

NOTE: There is no need to subscribe to both the flexfax and flexfax-announce mailing lists; postings to the announcement list are automatically fed to the normal flexfax list.

If you want to subscribe to either of these lists you need to send electronic mail that includes only a subscribe request in the body of the mail; for example, to subscribe to the flexfax mailing list you might send:

    To: flexfax-request@sgi.com

    subscribe

To specify a mailing address other than the one used to post your note, specify it in the mail; e.g. to subscribe the user hopeless@lost.com to the flexfax-announce mailing list use:

    To: flexfax-announce-request@engr.sgi.com

    subscribe hopeless@lost.com

When you have been added to the mailing list you will receive confirmation by electronic mail at the subscribed address.

NOTE: To unsubscribe from a list send an unsubscribe request like the above to the same mail address; do not send administrative requests to the mailing list.

To subscribe to the flexfax mailing list send your request to flexfax-request@sgi.com. To subscribe to the flexfax-request mailing list send your request to flexfax-announce-request@engr.sgi.com.
